Run Coaching

Are you a beginner who wants to learn to run without pain or injury? Or perhaps you’re an experienced runner who’d like to improve your pace or race finish time?

No matter where you are in your running journey, I provide rrca-certified-coach-logoprograms and services customized to your needs. I’m a Certified Running Coach by Road Runners Clubs of America (RRCA), educated in all aspects of running from the 5k to the marathon.

I work with my run coaching clients in the south metro Denver CO area.

Beginning Runner Program: 

Using a proven run-walk method, this program focuses on developing proper running form, gently building endurance and cardiovascular fitness, and minimizing the risk of injury. In addition, we’ll incorporate functional strength training exercise sessions DirtySneakersdesigned specifically for runners of all levels to improves neuromuscular coordination, strengthen tendons and ligaments, and mitigate muscle imbalances.

Program Details:

  • One private coaching session per week (running or strength training) at my private studio or an outdoor running venue (see Training Locations for details)
  • Monthly video running form analysis throughout the program
  • Cardiovascular fitness evaluation and progress monitoring (a)
  • Workout evaluations and monitoring (b)
  • Unlimited phone/email support

  • $500 for initial 8 week program; monthly thereafter

Running Form Video Analysis: 

Have you been running for a while, and can’t seem to get faster?  Or perhaps you experience frequent/recurring pain such as shin splits (pain in the front of the leg), runner’s knee (pain on the outside of the knee) or hip pain (IT band syndrome). Your running form is the likely culprit.

I’ll video you running on a treadmill at my private studio from a variety of angles, and using special analysis software we’ll identify where you have muscular imbalances that are inhibiting your natural running form, causing compensations that result in pain and injury.

Runners Corrective Exercise Program: Corrective exercise

Based on video analysis and other assessments, I’ll design a program of flexibility and strength exercises specifically designed to correct the muscle imbalances that are causing you pain and injury, impacting your running success and enjoyment.

Program Details:

  • Two or three private training sessions per week, at my private studio or your location (trip surcharges apply)
  • Customized corrective exercise program based on comprehensive assessments and video analysis
  • Initial 4 week program: $520 for two sessions/week; $720 for three sessions/week

Event Training (5k to Marathon, Obstacle Race):

Do you have a bucket list goal of completing a running event, such as a 5k, 10k, or even a marathon or obstacle race? Have you become proficient at a shorter distance and want Trail running raceto take your running to the next level? With this program, you pick your goal race and I design a customized program to get you there. I’ll be coaching and motivating you along the way, and you’ll receive weekly functional strength training sessions specifically for your fitness level and running form.

Program Details:

  • Two private in-person coaching sessions per week at my private studio location
  • Monthly video running form analysis throughout the program
  • Weekly workout evaluations and progress monitoring (b)
  • Unlimited phone/email support
  • Race day in-person motivation and cheering!
  • Customized, detailed written training program for your goal event
  • Free Final Surge online training log
  • Minimum program duration is six weeks from the date of your goal race
  • $800 for six weeks; $975 for 8 weeks

Group Training:

Want to form your own runners group? Great! I can facilitate private groups of three or more participants and customize the group’s program according to your needs. Please contact me and we’ll work out the details!

(a) Requires use of a heart rate monitor or similar training device. There are many options here, so please contact me for guidance on purchasing the best one for your needs.
